How can I make my HP 2133 Mini-Note laptop run faster?

I don't really have time to upgrade the RAM as I'm going on holiday in a couple days. I wanted to watch movies on the plane, but my laptop lags a bit. It's running Vista Home Basic, and I wondered if downgrading to XP would make any difference?

What movie are you planning to watch? There has been an issue where even playing Youtube videos could still lags a bit, since the processor is very weak. If it is of decent quality then it's alright, although with some frame rate drops.

As for the RAM, with Windows Vista pre-installed, it is recommended to upgrade it to 2GB, especially since the graphic card also addresses 128MB of your RAM, limiting to only 896MB of RAM you can use.

Downgrading would be able to make some differences, though not much. And it could still lags for a while for video playback, since your processor is not really good at it.

You should consider trade-in this laptop with the better HP Mini-Note 2140 with Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz (about twice faster than VIA C7-M and producing less heat too), Windows XP, larger screen (10", although resolution is decreased into 1024×576, or if you're lucky you'll find the 1366×768 but with Windows Vista pre-installed), and (if any) 2GB RAM with paying about 50%~60% more of the 2133 price.

How to use the WEBCAM on my Dell Inspiron Mini?

i got a dell mini for christmas and i dont know how to use the webcam! Also when ever i get on a windows live chat thing comes up how do i get rid of that too!

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook. The program to use your web cam is in the menus in one of the Dell Menus. The Windows Live Chat is something you probably set up. When it opens, open options or settings and uncheck the item that starts it up when you boot the computer. Also check the menus to make sure it is not listed in the start menu which automatically starts programs up.
