How do i boot off installation disc?

I turned on my computer(fairly new) one morning(the day before it would freeze up so i would pull the power supply which i KNOW isn't good at all but thats all i could do besides nothing). The computer is getting power, it is NOT the monitor that is doing this. I turn on my computer and see the Lenovo(IBM's new name) and the screen is very dark, but you can tell that it is on because theres a light tint to the darkness. It shows the Lenovo start up screen, I can go to BIOS utility, Start up normally(it stays on dark screen), and it will let me go to choose temporary start up device. This has happened before and my uncle told me how to use installation disk to boot computer. How do I set it to boot off the disc, and do i have to turn off computer and turn back on to make it happen?

You have to enter BIOS by hitting Del key while starting up.
You have to make CD the first boot device and save and exit.
Now your computer will boot off from the CD.

well, i can't tell you unless i know the actual system information (i.e., operating system, hard drive capacity) but these things should run fine on your computer.
they're downloadable and will install & work on pretty much every modern computer actually. i'm 99 percent sure anyway.

I guess almost everyone of you has an idea about what a Touch Tablet PC is but sometimes those concepts need to be explained better and I think the best way to describe a Touch Screen Tablet PC is by comparing it with laptops, the device it uses as a base to build upon this niche gadget.

Why is it a niche gadget? Firstly, because it's not something everybody would use or pay more than on a regular notebook/netbook. Basically a Tablet laptop is a more expensive Laptop that adds touchscreen capabilities for user input. But now let's take this matter in detail and compare a laptop and a touch screen tablet with the same specs like they were build by the same manufacturer and the only difference comes from the touch screen part.

Main differences between a touch enabler notebook PC and a normal laptop:

• Battery life: as touch screen tablets have more components than other laptops (the touch enabling layer over the display for example) the power consumption is slightly higher than on normal laptops so expect a shorter battery life away from the socket
• Software: this is maybe the biggest difference, as without proper software and programs to take good use of the touch capabilities of a Tablet PC there isn't much to do with one. This is also what Tablet PCs lack right now but maybe manufacturers will understand this and will try and offer customized apps for touch input.

How can I make my HP 2133 Mini-Note laptop run faster?

I don't really have time to upgrade the RAM as I'm going on holiday in a couple days. I wanted to watch movies on the plane, but my laptop lags a bit. It's running Vista Home Basic, and I wondered if downgrading to XP would make any difference?

What movie are you planning to watch? There has been an issue where even playing Youtube videos could still lags a bit, since the processor is very weak. If it is of decent quality then it's alright, although with some frame rate drops.

As for the RAM, with Windows Vista pre-installed, it is recommended to upgrade it to 2GB, especially since the graphic card also addresses 128MB of your RAM, limiting to only 896MB of RAM you can use.

Downgrading would be able to make some differences, though not much. And it could still lags for a while for video playback, since your processor is not really good at it.

You should consider trade-in this laptop with the better HP Mini-Note 2140 with Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz (about twice faster than VIA C7-M and producing less heat too), Windows XP, larger screen (10", although resolution is decreased into 1024×576, or if you're lucky you'll find the 1366×768 but with Windows Vista pre-installed), and (if any) 2GB RAM with paying about 50%~60% more of the 2133 price.

If you don't want to trade-in, try disabling startup programs, cleaning your registry (recommendation: Piriform CCleaner), and uninstalling some programs you might not use.
