My dog just ate a half a bag of chocholate covered raisons!is he goign to be ok?is there a chance he'll die?

hes medium sized, and is a bichon frise. im scared he might die. i dotn want to go to the vet because that costs..alot. so just in case nothing is wrong i dont think i should go with him yet. his breath smells soo chocholaly. any help is greatly immensally appreciated! thank you. the chocholate covered raisons are milk. and its price chopper brand( just in case )

Get him some grass quickly to help him bring it back up. Don't let him re eat it after it comes up.
Call a vet for more information
(it's the dark chocolate thats the killer and he would need to eat at least an ounce of pure chocolate per pound of body weight..

Why do we all love the science fair food projects so much? I think it is because they are so spectacular and we can see the results very clearly. What I think is important, is looking at it another way. The one about the bread mold can be looked at from two sides. One way of looking at it is the growth of the mold itself, meaning growth. The other side is looking at it from the decay side, mold as part of decay.

I think the bread mold one as the mold growing is the most well known one, but now I want to look at it from the decay side and see mold as part of the decay process. What is the role of mold in the process of decay and how can decay be stopped or slowed down.

So, first what is decay? What is the role of decay in nature? What are the conditions necessary for decay? How can decay be slowed down?

For good science fair food projects we always have to start with a hypothesis, which is saying what we want to prove and what we think the outcome will be. It is not important if your hypothesis is proven right or wrong, as long as you follow the proper scientific method and keep record of everything you do. This is the reason why you have to make meticulous notes of all your steps and preferably also take photos of every step as well as the end result.

What is the best way to manage your macbook pro battery at home?

I have a macbook pro and i was wondering what you guys do?
do u keep the charger in at all times? do you take it out after its fully charged and use it? cause im wondering if im doing the best possible thing.

Typically you can keep your charger in when you are using it at home or whenever power is available. Apple recommends that you drain the battery and calibrate it before you first use it and then once again once every month regardless of the type of use you subject it too. The first thing you need to do is charge your computer till the adapter light is green and the onscreen indicator shows 100%. Next let the battery rest in the fully charged state for at least 2 hours. You can use you computer normally during this time. After 2 hours disconnect the power adapter while the computer is still on and let the computer run using battery charge. Once the indicator gets low and warns you it is about to shut down save everything and let the computer go to sleep. Let your MacBook sleep for about 5 hours and then connect the power adapter again and leave it connected until the battery is completely charged.

Standing Punching Bags:

If you plan on kickboxing, definitely purchase a standing punching bag since standing bags start much lower to the ground and are often height adjustable. If you are not into kickboxing and you are after a more durable, more professional punching bag, the hanging punching bag is best. Mounted to the wall or ceiling with chains allows the hanging bag to sway upon impact, better representing an actual opponent and allowing you to work on combos and footwork. Another key thing is the hanging bag will always return back to its original position while the standing bags are likely slowly slide across the floor, never returning to their original position. Please, please, please, before purchasing a hanging bag, check the weight of the bag and ensure your ceiling or alternate support can safely support it.

How much sway should there be in a Hanging Bag?

A bag should sway a little so that your don't break your hand upon impact, but not so much that the target is constantly moving and it's near impossible to land a punch. Sway for a hanging bag is really determined by the size of the fighter and the weight of the bag. For a 5'10 180 lb. male, a 70-80lb bag will work. This is just a rule of thumb and those who throw lighter punches should aim for 50-60lb bags while those who really wish to throw some of the harder punches can go to the 100-120 lb bags.

It is recommended that you always use some type of hand protection when working the bag. Although serious bag injuries aren't too common, it's pretty terrible to admit that you can't participate in the actual fight because you broke your hand on the bag. Normally a laptop battery can run up to 2 hours, but more often it run less than that. After sometime, we notice the battery running shorter and shorter where we need more often to charge it. For any new laptop, the battery usually comes empty. It's advisable to charge at least 4 hours non-stop on the first charging as it can prolong the lifespan of the battery. Also during the first charging, it is not advisable to use the laptop battery at all.

There are generally 2 types of battery. Knowing the different is important because it affect how we should charge the battery. The older type is call Nickel Cadmium battery. For this kind of battery, it's advisable to use the battery until empty, and then charge it to full. This is a one full cycle. As for another type of battery, which is Lithium based battery, it's advisable to use the battery until 10%-20% before you charge it to full. On Windows base, you will get alert that battery is running low and you should start charging it.

So far we have cover how to charge the battery effectively, but how about effective usage of laptop battery. On Windows base, it's recommended to use the Power Schemes for Laptop to control how the laptop behaves after a period of inactivity. Example, when running on battery, after 5 minutes, it will turn off monitor. After 10 minutes, it will turn off harddisk. After 20 minutes, the laptop will go into standby mode. This can greatly reduce the drainage on the laptop battery.

Second way to reduce battery usage is to lower/darken the laptop monitor brightness. Brighter screen consumes more power compare to darker screen. Thirdly, when running on battery, try to minimize the number of active applications running at the same time. Each application consumes processing power, so more processing will use more power from the battery. Lastly when laptop is not in used, set the laptop to standby/hibernate mode. This can be done by pressing the 'power' button once or just close the laptop lid.

Another last tip on reducing battery power usage is to avoid using external devices like external harddisk, external DVD writer and iPod. These devices does not have its own power supply, therefore it will drain the power directly from the laptop battery. If you really want long runtime on laptop that running on battery, you should consider getting a 9 cell battery. On down side, it will be bigger and add extra weight to the laptop, but on the good side, it can last for up to 4 hour runtime.

By knowing these facts and tips, you should be able to prolong the laptop battery lifetime and also maximize your runtime when running on battery.

Is there a MacBook car charger?

I'm going on a roadtrip to Georgia from New Jersey and need a way to charge my Macbook in the car. It's just a regular macbook... it's about a year old and is white.

Why is the apple sign on a Macbook or Macbook Pro covered on many TV shows?

I've noticed that on many TV shows when someone is using a Macbook or Macbook Pro, the apple sign on the laptop is covered, usually with a sticker. Is there some sort of copyright against using Macs on TV? Or is there some other reason?

Simply put, if they show the apple logo in their show, it shows favoritism towards that product, and the logo could be protected by copyright laws. Because of this, they cover it, blur it out, or replace it with a different image to keep the computer on the show.

Does my MacBook Pro lose battery power when I put it in sleep mode?

I also have another question. When I put my MacBook in sleep mode, is it ok to put inside the sleeve that I bought with it or would that make it overheat? I just got it and Im not sure how these things work yet!

It will use a small amount of power in sleep mode. But you can easily leave it for at least 24 hours in sleep mode without running down the battery.

It does not generate heat in sleep mode, so you are OK to put it into the sleeve.

My brandy new MacBook Pro (First Mac Ever, btw) will be arriving early next week.

You can give it a try, however, most OEM versions are pegged to the BIOS of the system they came on and usually won't install on another computer. It really depends on the type of disk your girlfriend received with her system. If it's a restore disk (which is just an image of her installation), then it definitely won't work.

Try it, it won't hurt anything (other than being a violation of Microsoft's lame license agreement). If it doesn't work, then you'll have to get a retail copy of Windows.
