Consult guide books on the countries and areas that you are traveling to or through to give you a heads up on what to expect. Also, carry a foreign language phrase book with you to help you communicate with people when you get there.

Do not wear expensive looking jewelry, watches, camera carrying cases, or even designer handbags. You don't want to tempt any would be robbers or muggers. Take a conservative outfit along with you in case you need to wear one on certain occasions.

If you are traveling alone, it is best to travel light. For one thing you will be more mobile because you aren't loaded down with luggage. If it's not too small for your belongings, a wheeled, carry-on bag, or a backpack may be you best bet. It is important to try and have one hand free at all times. Having two hands free is even better. You should wear a shoulder bag that has a strong, wide strap that will fit over your head. Many intrusive forms of advertising, and even some viruses, can install software on your machine by using various forms of pop-ups. It's best to get yourself a blocker and avoid the situation entirely.

Always utilize a firewall on your Internet or network- enabled laptop computer. Even if you use Windows XP's built- in firewall (or purchase one from such companies as Norton), your security will greatly benefit from it.

Blocking out all the unnecessary ports and closing all the loopholes will prevent a hacker or virus from freely entering your hard drive.

There are many different types of netbook cases, so you'll want to choose one that fits your needs perfectly so you get a netbook bag that you're happy with. Here are the major types of netbook bags, each for a recommended usage:

Netbook Pouch

A netbook pouch is typically a netbook bag that does not have any straps - it looks close to what would commonly be called a clutch if you were looking at it in women's fashion terms. The netbook pouch is great if you just want a protective covering for your netbook, or you're going to be putting it in something else. Most will fit your netbook very tightly, and will also have a padded covering inside. You'll also want to look at ones that have zippers that won't scratch your netbook - most do take precautions.

Netbook Sleeve

The netbook sleeve is similar to the netbook pouch, but it may or may not have a zipper top. These netbook pouches tend to be made in fashionable styles and colors, making it great for a women's netbook case choice. This type of netbook bag is made to go inside of something else, or just for light storage. It can have a padded covering, but typically this is the most plain as far as design goes, as well as being one of the least expensive of the netbook cases.

Netbook Messenger Bag

The netbook messenger bag is much smaller than your typical messenger bag - so if you're like me, you're going to consider that a very good thing. I personally was never a fan of just how bulky my 15.4 inch laptop messenger bag was - now that I'm dealing with a 10.1 inch netbook bag I'm much happier. One big different from the two types of messengers is the fact that netbooks are small enough to be put into either a vertical or a horizontal positioning. I personally am enjoying a vertical alignment messenger bag, and I use it as my normal purse as well.

Netbook Backpack

A netbook backpack is a no brainer for high school and college students - the netbook is about the same size as most books (although they are much thinner) so a good sized backpack for a netbook should give you plenty of space for your books and other gadgets as well. If you spend a lot of time traveling light, this would also be a good idea, although not quite as good as a specific travel bag made for the netbook. Many backpacks are also convertible into messenger bags or plain cases, although that depends on the brand.

Designer Netbook Bag

When you have bags of any sort, you have designer bags of various sorts. If you need a high end netbook bag to go with your high end style, these are the types that you're going to want to go to. There are many high end designers that are starting to look at the smaller netbook size for their technology lines, and most of the time you're going to see interesting layouts as far as pockets and compartments, luxury materials, and other bells and whistles that you only get by living on the wild side of things.

Hard Protective Netbook Case

If you're looking for a case that you can keep on all the time, and you're also looking for the protection only a hard protective netbook case can give, then this is the perfect choice for you. It's also good if you think your netbook is going to be used in very rugged situations, or if you're just a wee bit clumsy.

Netbook Travel Bag

If you travel for business, you are going to want a bag that can fit most of your essentials along with your netbook. Along with the pocket and size consideration, you're also going to want to have a netbook case that is TSA approved as far as ease of checking. Most travel specific netbook bags are made in this way, so you won't have to worry about getting slowed down in the security checks.

Netbook Case

The typical netbook case resembles a type of brief case. It has a handle, usually a nice leather or faux leather finish, and plenty of pockets to carry along all of your essential gadgets. This is a great type of netbook bag if you're a professional on the go - it really gives you a great look. There is usually a compartment for the netbook that is padded, along with many different pockets for your cell phones, papers, and other business essentials.

Netbook Skin

If you're looking for a soft alternative to the hard protective covering, while still having a close fitting case that can be on all the time, you're going to want to look at netbook skins. The Nintendo DS gaming console is very popular gaming device all over the world. The new technology in the DS is known as the R4DS means revolution for DS. The DS gaming terminal has a long history. There are two types of devices that can be attached to the DS known as the slot1 devices and slot2 devices. You could only play games with DS until the latest technology has come into existence. The R4DS is the latest technology available in the market and has got very much popularity.

Here's a quick run down of just what the R4 DS is. I would suggest that if you're not quite sure as to what the R4 DS is, and what it can do, that you do go back to reading my article on this truly unique Nintendo DS accessory.In brief, the R4 DS is a slot 1 device that allows you to play homebrew games as well as Roms and Mp3 music, read e-books, watch movies, etc... on your Nintendo DS console. It turns your Nintendo DS system into a whole entertainment center, all for under $50.00.

There are some quick and easy tips to follow. While some of these tips may seem obvious, it even took me about a week and a half of using the R4 DS before I came up with some ways to make game playing a little bit easier.

1. Store your game files in a directory on your microSD Card. Make a folder called games, and ONLY store your games in this folder. It makes browsing to them in the menu much easier, and all your game save files will also be organized.

2. Store your MP3 Music files and video files in seperate folders too, and in the case of multiple music albums on the memory card, you should make a sub-directory of each album. This is a MUST for anyone that has lots of music, with all of the track names labelled TRACK 1.mp3, TRACK 2.mp3, etc... You'll avoid conficts with file names by putting them all in on directory, and because you can name your sub-directory the name of the CD your ripped, you'll at least know that TRACK-1.mp3 in the ABBA directory is from the ABBA greatest hits album.

3. Try to backup your game saves to your PC hard drive on a regular basis. Not because they could get corrupted on the microSD card in the R4 DS, but because you may want to go back to an earlier save point later in the game. It's also good to get into this habit because you may erase a game (and its save game file) and not have a backup in case you want to play that game once again sometime in the future. While this one really seems like an obvious hint, you would be surprised to know that most of our technical support emails for the R4 DS deal with how to get back erased or deleted game saves that were not backed up. I recommend doing this at LEAST once a week, more if you play your games more frequently.

4. Don't take out the R4 DS from the Nintendo DS console each time you want to add files to the microSD Card. Simply push the microSD card with your finger and it will 'pop out' of the R4 DS card slot. You can then quickly put it into the included microSD Card reader / writer in order to change games and files or add music or video.

5. This is my final (and quite possibly the most obvious) tip. And it deals with the microSD card in the card slot of the R4 DS. When you put the Nintendo DS or DS Lite into your pocket or pick it up. Do a double check on the microSD card in the R4DS slot 1 card. Make sure that the microSD card is in the card slot of the R4DS and it's not loose or ready to pop out. The chances of it popping out without you pushing down on the card are slim, but it could happen while you're carrying it in your pocket. There would be nothing worse than losing your microSD card somewhere, because it popped out and fell on the ground. MicroSD Cards are small and tiny, and once lost, you would have a hard time finding it anywhere else except at a store, where you'd be buying a new one. If you carry your Nintendo DS in a case, then the chances are much smaller that the card will get dislodged from the R4 DS card slot, but it's better to check on a regular basis anyway. Make this something you do before you even power on.

The piracy in the usage of the Nintendo gaming console is increased due to easy use of the R4DS and easy availability of the games to be downloaded in the SD card. The Nintendo company was about to stop the selling of the R4DS due to the increase in the piracy of games. They had made the device for the legal use and the piracy makes the device available for the pirated and games.

Another point to consider is the piracy of the R4DS cartridge itself. The R4DS cards are available in pirated version by many illegal distributors. There are many people who loose their computer in a short circuit. It is necessary for you to overlook some trusted web sites if you are about to buy the R4DS for the fist time or after an accident with the old pirated one.
