NAND or NOR Flash Memory:

Flash memory is a non-volatile data storing memory wafer that involves electrically erasing and reprogramming technology. Being non-volatile these chips are capable of storing data even in the absence of power and are renowned for fast reading and better kinetic shock resisting qualities. NAND devices are accessed serially, using the same eight pins to transmit control, addressing and data. NAND flash was introduced by Toshiba in 1989.

Although NAND and NOR memory chips function differently they are still widely being used in various electronic devices where data storing, erasing and reprogramming are essential. Both invented by DR. Fujio Masuoka in his work place Toshiba, the main goal was set to outdate the old storage devices that functions under magnetic energy like: hard disks and cassette tapes by reducing the cost per bit and increasing maximum chip capacity.

Hence, NAND flash is widely used in MP3 players, USB drives and digital cameras where higher storage capacity is crucial. But, some devices like pocket PC's can be found using both types of flash memory at the same time. These PC's typically use NAND for memory storage and NOR to boot the operating system.

Flawed Memory Drives and Data Recovery:

Data recovery is a highly specialized science which is equally valid for rescuing data from both NAND and NOR flash. Although, NOR is rarely used and is quite expensive, NAND is preferred extensively for mass storage and a huge godsend for thin and smaller devices.

The probability of data loss is elevated when bad memory storage is used: unbranded USB drives, unbranded NAND wafer devices, etc. These unbranded memory devices & chips are often noticed in spontaneous reboots leading to program failure. These software utilities are used to re-build the drive and manipulate other drive errors.

In case of physical faults like: motor replacements, repairing heads or cleaning scratches different cleaning liquids and other spare parts are available according to the size and code. After every physical and logical recovery attempt the rescued data is copied to an additional storage device like: CD/DVD's, flash drives, and hard drives.

Dell Latitude D631 is not bright aenough to see. How can i brighten it?

I have a Dell Latitude D631. Currently there is a fault with the monitor. The screen is almost completely black but can just about see it. Is there a way I can brighten the laptop screen manually?

In the bios, set it so you can manually change the brightness (I forgot the name they use). Then you can use Fn + Up Arrow to increase brightness.

However, there are many measures that you can take to ensure you aren't victimized by these scams. As in many situations, prevention is often the most effective measure against the threat of scareware. There are many good quality pop-up blockers that you can make use of and some of them are offered free. A good pop-up blocker will be one that targets not only advertisements but also spam as well as spyware. It is also a good idea to install a pop-up blocker that actively looks for and then destroys tracking cookies.

Social networking sites are a favorite target of cybercriminals simply because they are so popular and people do have a tendency to be negligent when they are on these sites. In some cases, launching the application means you are allowing the third-party website to access information contained in your personal page.

More and more people are buying laptop computers today than desk side computers. Its easy to see why these small computers are advantageous over the desk side models. For one thing, laptops offer flexibility. You can take them anywhere. Over the years, these computers have continued to get small and lighter. Now there is a sub-category of laptop computers referred to as small or mini laptop computers. If you are in the market for a mini laptop computer, you have an ever-growing number of choices. So how do you choose which of these mini computers is right for you?

This genre of laptop computer offers many options and making a selection can be daunting. Many people like to see what other people are buying. There is a reasonable belief that if many people are selecting a certain item, odds are that a fair number of them have done their research and made a selection based upon this research. Here are five very popular models of small laptop computers.

The first of these small laptop computers that we will consider is the Acer Aspire. This mini laptop offers a wide 9-inch screen. This reasonably sized screen is large for a mini laptop and is excellent for those people who use their computers frequently. The large sized screen offers bright, clear, sharp, high-quality imagery. This computer is a tad larger than other mini computers, but it is full featured.

Now we will consider the Asus Eee PC 1000. This version of the Asus is a bit larger than its predecessor. However, the Eee PC 1000 is still, relatively speaking, miniature as compare to larger, standard sized laptop computers. The Eee PC 1000 offers excellent battery life. As with the previous Asus computers, this one still uses the Intel Atom processor.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 is an excellent option. As with other Dell computers, the Mini 9 is fully configurable. Dells willingness to customize every computer makes it easy to obtain exactly what you are looking for in a computer. One shortcoming of the Dell is its less-than-average battery life.

Next is the HP mini computer. HP computers, on average, tend to be somewhat more expensive than other computers. This is true in the small laptop category as well. However, increased price, in this case means more product.
