Can I upgrade the amount of cells in my laptop?

Okay so I got a laptop today, it's a Compaq Presario from walmart: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11050018 and it came with a 6 cell. Is there anyway I can upgrade it or will it only allow 6 cell batteries?

The uptake of wireless networks has grown exponentially since it was first touted as the "next big thing" in computing. And it's not only businesses that have taken to the technology, according to a poll by YouGov, 59% of UK citizens with broadband have set up wireless networks at home. Of the 59%, 87% used their wireless networks for PCs and laptops, 28% for wireless printing and 20% for gaming online. Statistics from across the Atlantic show that the trend is similar for broadband users in the US. According to ABI Research, more than half of US broadband users have set up some kind of home network. Of those, roughly 25% use their networks to run gaming consoles, while 8% use their broadband for their mobile phones.

ABI Research claims that their research reflects the fact that home networks can no longer be considered as early adapter technology. This theory is supported by Chris Dobrec, director of strategy and business development at Linksys, who says that wireless networking is now a mass marketing technology and can no longer be considered to belong to tech savvy consumers only. He goes on to add that modern consumers are only interested in the practical benefits and convenience provided by wireless technology, such as wireless printing and internet access.

Market savvy manufacturers have taken note of the home wireless trend and have adapted existing products to cater to the increasingly sophisticated needs of their consumers. BT for instance has revealed an improved version of its Home Hub broadband router that now has features that support 802.11n wireless technology. They have also made the Hub smaller and changed the exterior design so that it fits in with modern televisions and home entertainment systems. According to John Petter, managing director of BT Retail Consumer, the new Hub will double the range of existing wireless devices and will also supply a more consistent, reliable and efficient wireless signal.

Meanwhile the International Telecommunication Union's G.hn is expected to be the new generation WiFi standard with "significant potential". According to Michael Wolf, director of ABI Research, G.hn, which has been under development for about 2 years, is intended to create a "unifying standard" for home networks.

Until the new standard for home networks takes hold, however, 802.11n WiFi technology is expected to surpass wired Ethernet to become the dominant enterprise LAN access technology, according to a report by the Burton Group. 802.11n has some significant advantages over previous generations of WiFi technology, especially with regards to output and range.

While the use of wireless networks is growing in homes and businesses, many users are doing so illegally. According to a study by Accenture, 12% of UK and US users "piggyback" on unsecured WiFI networks. Users aged between 18 and 34 constituted the largest percentage of offenders and US users were more likely to piggyback than users in the UK.

Looking for the power supply for an aftermarket aux jack for a 2004 Corolla?

Ok so I've decided to add an aftermarket auxiliary jack to my 2004 Toyota Corolla. Never mind that I've already lost two screws off of my radio now I have no idea where to plug in the auxiliary jack power supply. Its just a little red wire with a metal tip that doesn't look like it fits into anything. Also if you could give me an idea where the ground goes that would be helpful too. Thanks!!!

You need to get a splice to tap into a Constant On power supply wire.

The Tip doesn't go to anything because you need to add a Female Tap to plug your Male tip into.

Head down to the Auto Parts Store and ask them about it. They will know what you need and get it for you.

You don't need something that's going to plug into your Fuse Box. I'm sure that wire isn't long enough for that.

The Oster 6 Slice Toaster oven is one of today's most popular kitchen appliances. One of its unique features includes a broiler, commonly known as a sign of a higher end toaster. Where can I find a nice laptop bag?

I just received a 13" Macbook pro for christmas and am looking for a bag for it. Here's my issue... I need one that can accommodate my regular purse items as well as a spiral notebook or two considering I am a student. Basically, I want to avoid carrying more than one bag around with me.

You can usually find one at Walmart or Staples.
But if you want it to look more "fashionable" why not try an oversized purse?
You can buy those anywhere and I'm sure they look a lot more attractive then a laptop bag.

An Automatic Transfer Switch is an automatic transfer of power source from one to another, this type of switches is more convenient compare to the manual type. An electrical transfer switch is very useful nowadays, because when the main power source is disconnected, it will automatically transfer the power to another electric system.

Electrical transfer switches can be use also when there are changes in voltage power supply. If the voltage power supply changed, it can cause damage to the internal circuit of your appliances at home or at the office.

Transfer switches will initiate the transfer of power to a generator or back-up power source until the voltage becomes stable again. A transfer switch is also called "Generator Transfer Switches".

An automatic transfer switch has additional circuit component, which is normally in a form of computer in which the incoming power is being monitor. It monitors the circuit for voltage sags, power surges, power spikes, or brownouts. It also actively initiates action in case there is a complete power loss. When the problem is being detected, the automatic transfer switch begins to start up the emergency power supply.

When the emergency power supply achieved the appropriate level of voltage, the automatic transfer switches will transmit power from the main source to the emergency power supply. While the emergency power supply as the active source of power, continues to monitor the main power supply. Once the main power source becomes stable for a specific period of time, the automatic transfer switch will transmit the power back to the main power supply.

Automatic Transfer Switch, according to the expert in power source is the safe way in connecting electrical load to the power generator as your back up electrical source. If you have installed an electric generator into your power system without an automatic transfer switch, it could break your power generator and everything in the circuit.

There are three methods used by electrical transfer switches in transferring electrical power source. These are break before make, closed transition transfer switch, and soft loading transfer switch. In the break before make method, the transfer switch breaks the contact from one power source before it switches to the other power source.

If there is a small or large switch breakage, break before make method prevents from back feeding of the emergency generator into the electric power line. The Closed Transition Transfer Switch method enables the generator to hold the load while the power supply remains uninterrupted. This method is common in industrial and commercial applications that are using automatic transfer switch system.

The Soft Loading Transfer Switch used the Closed Transition Transfer switch except the amount of load accepted by the generator in constant changed, as the power source is switched. This is the dynamic version of the closed transition switch and is compatible with the automatic transfer switch.
