Coming from an old player in the laptop game, there are several things that a buyer can look forward to from the Dell XPS M1530.

For years, it has been the complaint of several buyers of Dell laptops that the units are quite thick as well as heavy. The Dell XPS M1530, however, is decidedly different from its older cousins. For the first time, Dell released a model in 2007 that is sleek, thin and light. When users complained that Dell laptops have very small screens, Dell then released the XPS M1530, which has a larger screen.

The XPS M1530 features a soft-touch finish for its chassis. What's wonderful is that it allows the buyer to choose from three different colors for its finish. Choices include Tuxedo Black, Alphine White or Crimson Red. Dell has decided to turn from the norm and not overload this machine with flashy designs and, as a result, it only has the soft-touch finish to boast of aesthetically.

Like mentioned earlier, Dell has made this notebook amazingly light: something it has not done with past models. The Dell XPS M1530 weighs an impressive 2.6 screen even if it has a sizable 15.4-inch LCD screen. This is ideal for businessmen and mobile computer users.

The Dell XPS M1530 is made up of strong and high quality materials which include steel, magnesium and aluminum. This would mean that the XPS M1530 is strong, durable and is able to resist the effects of wear and tear for a period of time.

The Dell XPS M1530 also comes with an impressive keyboard. All keys are full-sized, thus giving your fingers ample space and making usage comfortable for you. They are also soft and very responsive. The keyboard is complemented by an equally comfortable and sensitive touchpad.

One thing that can turn you off from the M1530, however, is its mediocre sound system. Placed on top of the keyboards, it is not supported by a subwoofer thus limiting the amount of bass that they can output. This will certainly ruin your audio experience.

While it certainly does have a good video card, it is far from being powerful. The NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M installed on its motherboard only has a video memory of 256 MB, certainly not enough for heavy gaming. Typical games that demand little in video memory and processing power would be enough, as it's certainly up to the task. However, hardcore gaming is not a part of this machine's forte. Games like Crysis and Need for Speed's Pro Street are only rendered at very low frame rates, thereby greatly affecting the video and detail quality. So, if you're a hardcore gamer, the M1530 is not the one for you.

All in all, aside from the sound issues and the low frame rates for the later games, the XPS M1530 is an excellent machine. In fact, people consider it as the next step after the M1330, an earlier model which did well on its own right. Despite the high price tag, the XPS M1530 is still a good buy with its powerful features, design and ergonomic features.

Cell Battery Apple

can i do this?

ok. i am about to buy a dell inspiron 1501 (laptop) b/c its cheap. so when i do that, can i buy the new mac osx 10.5.9 and put it on the dell? the reason i want to do this is cuz the apple computers cost SO much, and i like them, but i dont think i can afford it.

LOL, no. This is why Macs are so good. They can run Windows, they have no known viruses for g5s, they are quick and easy, but they are VERY expensive.

It'll be a LONG time before companies like Dell & HP can run Mac Operating Systems.

And one more thing. It isn't the actual physical computer that makes Apple computers expensive... everything you need is already installed, including software to make movies, music, download songs, surf the net, type documents, make spreadsheets, and mostly everything else. Did I mention malicious software developers haven't yet been able to make a virus that can infect a Mac?

If you were somehow able to install 10.4.x or 10.5.x on a Dell, all you would have is a Mac operating system with none of the cool programs it comes with. By the time you spent money on programs that cost money and downloaded the programs that are free, you would of spent as much if not more than buying a Mac, and you could have been able to save enough to buy a Mac in that amount of time.

Sorry, but right now, its impossible. But cheers to you for wondering as I can see you are learning more and more about computers and their operating systems.

Inventors start with the idea about how to do something or how to do something better. Mark Twain once said that 'an accident is the best inventor'. An apple falling on Newton's head was an accident that led to his discovery of gravity. In the same way Joseph Henry invented electronic doorbell in the year 1831 because he never wanted his visitors to holler their heart out to inform him of their arrival.

The ice box turned into the refrigerator, black and white movies turned into Technicolor and land phones turned into cell phones. While progress moves us forward, it turns yesterday's inventions into tomorrow's wonders. Man has always looked for convenient ways to lead his life. This is the reason why a simple device like a door bell has not been spared. The "pull" type doorbells, where one had to pull a short handle or a knob to make the bell ring. These were the good old mechanical doorbells. Mechanical doorbells came in many forms - but the most popular were the twist style and pull styles. For a twist mechanical doorbell - the user had to twist a stem which moves a set of gears to push against a bell (much like a mechanical alarm clock). Pull style doorbells consisted simply of a rope hooked to a bell.

As other inventions were improvised, door bells were also improvised. The "pull" type door bells were soon replaced by the "press" type door bells.
Designer doorbell buttons were popularized in the late 1920's and early 1930's. Long before more modern electric doorbells came into fashion, grand mechanical doorbells abounded and could even help distinguish one house from the other.

Wired Doorbells became more compact and flexible. But there was always the problem of wires when looking to install the wired doorbells. So soon, wireless doorbells were introduced. The Wireless Doorbell is yet another extension of modern society's focus on function and electronics. The Wireless Doorbell's ability to be installed easily and its increasing signal strength make it a valuable purchase for many consumers.

Wireless doorbells can either be battery operated or electric powered. The Battery-operated ones will vary somewhat with some weaker models using Triple A batteries and the stronger models using D batteries. The main feature to look for in this area is battery life. We recommend going with a unit requiring D batteries as these tend to last longer. The wireless door bell can be carried along with you if you are moving to a different house without any difficulties in installation.

The sky is the limit in the case of wireless doorbells or door chimes. There are basic sounds like Westminster, Dong, or Ding Dong and then there are others that offer a lot more. Some models will play a list of over 50 songs and some will even let you record a message or play your favorite song in CD quality recording. This can be an especially intriguing option around the holidays as there are a number of different holiday songs. At the very least, this feature will be a good conversation piece. Also, for those who already have a wireless doorbell, you can even purchase add ons that provide more chimes or sounds. Regardless, of the option chosen most devices offer 12 or 13 basic chimes. Whether you want to go beyond this list will depend a lot on your personality and personal taste. 

The wireless doorbell is not perfect; there are some people who still look for advanced qualities in their doorbells. Some people look for high end wireless doorbell that can record your mp3 tunes straight from your ipod. Some people look for long range wireless doorbells or weatherproof wireless doorbells. It all depends on the requirements and the personal taste of the person.

If you are staying in an apartment, a simple door bell informing about a visitor at your home is enough for you, but if you are staying in a big mansion, you definitely need intercom security systems through which you can know your visitor and even speak to your visitor without opening the door. Despite so many advanced inventions in the field of door bells, some people still love to have traditional door chimes. Some people believe in hanging decorative wind chimes which enhance the style and décor of your modern home.

Ok well i just got a new ipod nano and i have to download itunes & limewire to get my music & stuff
but this laptop doesnt have that much memory on it , i dont kno if i can even download it on here .anyone expirenced with these kind of laptops because i sure as hell am not.

well, i can't tell you unless i know the actual system information (i.e., operating system, hard drive capacity) but these things should run fine on your computer.
they're downloadable and will install & work on pretty much every modern computer actually. i'm 99 percent sure anyway.
