New Sony Vaio VGN-CS320J Battery will no longer charge...?

My Sister's new Sony Vaio (VGN-CS320J) Battery will not charge after installing the RC of Windows 7.

I'm definitely missing something. A driver or some sort of software. Is there any software directly related to the battery or the batteries board? Is there something in Windows 7's power management settings in need of change?

The A/C adapter checks out fine.
-We'll i clearly figured software might have had something to do with it, but i guess not?

Software cannot affect the ability of the battery to charge. There is some hardware problem, most likely a faulty battery that won't hold a charge.
