Is there any way to find out the owner of the DELL Computer (laptop) with the battery No. affixed on it?

I have a DELL inspiron laptop and I recently found that the battery No affixed on the battery varied from the one that appeared inside the battery panel. Is there any way to find out who has done the mischief? My original ( seemingly heavy duty battery) will work for 8 hours whereas this works for hardly 1 hour . The weight of the battery is also very less when compared to my original one.

no you cant. but is this just a typo, that your battery can run 8 hours? i have never heard of a dell laptop running 8 hrs, might have been overheated around 3 hrs of use even. it usually just runs for 1-2 hrs of battery life...only newer acer timeline laptops can run 8 hrs.
