i want to install dvd rom in my desktop which has cd writer?

cd writer is already in my pc now i want to add dvd rom along with cd writer.what settings do i have to change?

No settings actually on windows need to be changed.
But, to ensure it all works correctly you should make sure the 'Jumper' is configured correctly.
On the back of the drive you should see some pins next to where the main ide lead goes in.
They probably have a couple of plastic things to connect 2 together.
1. Choose which drive you want to be 'Primary' and which 'Slave'
2. Set the Jumper correctly on BOTH drives, a diagram should be on the drive somewhere to show you how to do this.

3. Put them in, and make sure the 'Primary' and 'Slave' leads go to the correct drive.
4. When you boot up, your bios will re-configure your system and it's all done.
Oh ye and Slave maybe called 'Secondary' on some devices and Primary maybe called 'Master'.

You'll find "Merge into one file" at the bottom of the program window, after you select the titles and chapters you want to rip and finish the output settings, you can tick the check box of "Merge into one file" to merge several titles or chapters into one. This allows you to merge all movie titles into one output file so that you can enjoy a long movie without breaks.
