Will a laptop computer work without the battery if I have a working power cord?
I want to buy a Gateway Solo computer without the battery, but with the power cord. Will it work?
For the person who asked why would I want to use a laptop with a cord instead of a battery...I'm not sure why it matters to you, but reason is simple: I want to turn this into a project. A hobby, in a way...to turn an older laptop as cutting edge as I can get it. But I would like for it start off working, so I can use it in the meantime.

But of course be sure the power cord is the correct one for your laptop.
if you (others who read this) rarely use the battery in the laptop, it is BETTER to keep the battery OUT of the laptop- Fully charged battery at all times will shorten its life.
