With only about two months left before 2009 comes to a close, the time is apt for us to round up the nominees for netbook of the year. One of the forerunners would definitely have to be the Asus 1005HA 10.1-inch netbook, which I feel would be the winner. This netbook has scored big, whether it is in terms of design, specs, features or performance.
The Asus 1005HA netbook comes with a 10.1-inch LED back-lit screen, 802.11b/g/n wi-fi, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, an Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM (upgradeable to 2GB) and a 160GB hard drive. It is unfortunate that this model doesn't come with a HDMI output, which would make it an almost perfect netbook. Then again, how often would we use it?
The Asus 1005HA is also a very strong contender thanks to its new design. It has shed its bulky old design for a new sleek. The netbook now sports a streamlined, seashell design with smooth edges and sleek curves. It has a glossy external casing and comes in a variety of colors. Thanks to the design revamp, it is now one of the best-looking netbooks in the market.
Another major highlight of the Asus 1005HA would have to be the 10.5hours of battery life. This is made possible by its energy efficient system. Currently, there are no other netbooks in the market that rivals the battery life span of this model. The keyboard was very comfortable to type on and the netbook was generally flawless in performing everyday computing tasks. Thanks to a combination of a beautiful design, great specs and performance, the Asus 1005HA netbook will most likely be declared the best netbook of 2009!
