I'm buying a Mac Powerbook G4 17"?

I'm thinking about buying a mac powerbook from a friend and I'm wondering if anyone on yahoo could help me. I've listed below the specs on the mac and would like to know your oppion about it. I'll be using it for music production along with cd/dvds editing. I was thinking about going with a 12" G4 Powerbook with 1.5GHz and a Superdrive/ 80hd.

Do NOT get the 12-inch, unless you are also going to get yourself a big monitor, you will get very frustrated.

You will also want an external hard drive (get one with both USB 2.0 and Firewire ports).

Add all the RAM the laptop will take.

You may also find that the G4 is slow. And be aware that although there are two Firewire ports, they may actually be running off the same bus.

What video editing and music production programs are you planning on using? If it's any of the high-end stuff, this laptop is probably not sufficient. When you do rendering of the video files, it will bog down.

However, if you are doing basic stuff using what comes with the Mac, then you are probably fine.
