Toshiba Tecras are known for their performance and functionality. Toshiba has released more siblings into this already stunning family - the Tecra A10. These new models are powerful enough to be compared to desktops, yet they are not. These laptops are perfect for either business or personal use, great for wireless connectivity, and perfect for those who travel. The combination of performance, functionality, and bonus features provides consumers with a phenomenal experience.

When it comes to mid-range laptops, the Tecra A10 is comparative in size and price but above par with everything else. With measurements of 13 x 10.4 x 1.5-inches, and a weight of 6.2-pounds, there is no significant physical difference between this model and other laptops. MSRP is around $1,300, which is also directly competes with competitors. The Tecra A10 also offers a 15.4-inch widescreen monitor for pleasurable viewing experiences.

With an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 200GB HDD 7,200 rpm, and 4GM DDR2 SDRAM, the Tecra A10 offers performance like no other laptop. This - alone - is what rates this laptop at desktop speeds. For a laptop - and one that is not a gaming PC - the graphics card is pretty remarkable. It has an nVidia quadro FX graphics card with 256 MB of video RAM. Additionally, the laptop ships with Windows Vista Business 32/64-bit. (Media is shipped with the Tecra A10 to move to windows XP professional if you so desire.)

Bluetooth connectivity has become increasingly popular, and it is available on the Tecra A10. This allows consumers to connect, from the new Tecra A10, directly to other Bluetooth devices like cell phones. Other wireless options are also available: IEEE 802.11 n (draft), IEEE 802.11g,?IEEE 802.11b; therefore, you are not limited when it comes to connection options.

USB 2.0 ports allow for pretty fast transfer rates; however, ESATA ports offer consumers an ever faster transfer rate. The Tecra A10 offers consumers this functionality, along with being Energy Star compliant due to its integrated power management features.

Other features, like a built-in webcam, microphone, and USB Sleep-and-Charge, give consumers the flexibility they need with a laptop. While traveling, take advantage of the Sleep-and-Charge by charging your USB devices, even if the computer is powered down. The combination of webcam and microphone allow you to have face-to-face conversations with co-workers, friends, and family from nearly anywhere.

The Tecra A10 is durable with the combination of its overall design and Toshibas 4th-Gen EasyGuard Technology. EasyGuard protects your computer physically and provides extra security for your internal data. The fingerprint reader allows you to log in much quicker and easier, and - like EasyGuard - provides even more secured data.

The Tecra A10 provides consumers with a great laptop but there is a slight flaw. The default battery will not hold a charge near as long as many other laptop batteries do - be prepared.

When it comes to laptops, many of them appear to be the same. Some of the only differences are price and processor. The Tecra A10; however, does stand a bit above the crowd. As a matter-of-fact, it is more comparable to a desktop computer with its high quality performance. Regardless, the Tecra A10 is a great laptop, and it will exceed the expectations of many consumers.
