The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is coveted by serious gamers and multimedia editors alike. Seeing how the Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is a competent mobile desktop replacement, we now realize what the hype is about and conclude that it is deserved. The 18.4-inch LCD screen is a vision in itself. For processing, it has the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7350. It also has a 6GB of DDR2 system memory and a large 500GB hard drive.
The build quality of the Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is outstanding. The chassis is described to have a so-called Fusion Finish with Sonic pattern in black onyx. The problem with having a gorgeous glossy plastic finish is that it picks up fingerprints quickly.
Due to its screen size and over-all dimensions, the Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is on the heavy side. But if that's the downside for the amazing display, we'll still take it. With measurements at 11.6" x 17.4" x 1.6", carrying it around would put undue burden on your shoulders and your arms.
The keyboard is full sized and has a separate numeric keypad, which has LED backlights. The keys are also pleasantly sensitive. Being able to type with this much comfort is something we wish more laptops would follow. We even like the Synaptics touchpad.
The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 has the following features: an ExpressCard/54, a 5-in-1 Card Reader, a Gigabit Ethernet and an 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi. It also has 4 USB 2.0, an eSATA, and FireWire, HDMI and VGA slots.
The hard drive inside the Toshiba Satellite P500-S8945 is large at 500GB and we find the 6GB of RAM is more than enough.
However, we found out that multitasking capability isn't one of its strengths. Instead of the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7350, Toshiba should have gotten a better processor since it does have all these excellent features to support. The laptop runs on Windows Vista Home Premium.
In addition, it has an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4650 graphics processor, which might not be able to keep up with really intense gamers even while boasting a 1GB video memory. The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is a laptop intended to give high performance so it's shocking that it has neither Bluetooth nor a fingerprint scanner.

The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is attractive because of its wide screen, its keyboard that has "comfort" written all over it, the impressive 500GB hard drive and the 6GB RAM. The build is of high quality and the design is exceptional.
Cons
The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8945 is marketed to be the laptop of choice of gamers but it falls short of the gamers' expectations. Processing speed and graphics should have matched its other features. But we think that this laptop is a better fit for multimedia enthusiasts who we think will not have one problem with it. The sound quality is topnotch.
