How do you fix a power jack for a laptop?

I have a laptop and the power jack is not reading my power cord correctly. I know that the power cord is good because I have tried three different ones. The only way I can get the laptop to read the power cord is to wiggle it around for five minutes until I find the right spot, but then I can't move my laptop or else the battery icon pops back up. Is there a way that I can fix the connection so that I do not have to constantly wiggle the cord around? Thanks.
